Ethereum Mainnet Timeline Update

Earlier this month, we made an announcement highlighting our Road to Ethereum Mainnet, and just 9 days ago we successfully released the Element Protocol and platform to the Goerli Testnet.

Since the testnet launch, we’ve received an enormous amount of feedback along with incredible growth of the community itself. Last week we tweeted out a summary thread covering some of the highlights.

A quick recap:

• The community showed up, big time. Just three days after testnet launch, we saw 800+ unique addresses interact with the testnet and 5,000+ trades made via the pools.
• From that, ~125 community members exchanged 500+ messages in our #testnet channel on discord.element.fi. The feedback is flowing, resulting in 30+ issues and general feedback raised. Some community members are volunteering to write docs. Some are sharing specs for products they’re building on Element.
• In response to the immense feedback, the team has cranked out +44 commits across +26 pull requests for improvements to the UI and overall performance since Saturday.
• We may have even contributed to crashing the Georli ETH faucet temporarily!

Overall, the testnet launch has far surpassed our most optimistic expectations and we are beyond excited at how much feedback we’ve received so far.

Given the amount of feedback and improvements we’d like to include before our mainnet launch, we are announcing that we have decided to delay our mainnet launch date to further polish the platform, fix UI bugs, address community feedback, and ultimately deliver the best product possible.

Our new estimate for the Ethereum mainnet launch is June 30th, at the latest.

As we continue working to deliver the best product possible, we will strive to keep the level of engagement high within the community as well.

As mentioned in our testnet announcement post, we have received numerous requests and ideas from the community in regards to product building on top of the Element Protocol. With that in mind, we would like to start sharing some of our ideas for the community to consider building on top of Element.

To kick things off, we’ll publish a series of blog posts highlighting the vast amount of possible structured products that can be built in harmony with the Element Protocol. We are excited to work with builders in the community and help bring their projects to life!
